Turkish Bunker Association Makes Its Mark at London Energy Week
The Turkish Bunker Association hosted an IE Week event in London, bringing industry stakeholders together.

The IE Week event organized by the Turkish Bunker Association in London was a major success, attracting more than 225 participants. The gathering strengthened the unity, influence, and visibility of Turkish bunker suppliers within the global maritime fuel industry.
TURMEPA President Şadan Kaptanoğlu emphasized that the event was an important opportunity to showcase the sector’s harmony and synergy. Participants also shared insights into the dynamism of Turkey’s bunker market and their expectations for the future.
Impact of the Mediterranean ECA
According to the Turkish Bunker Association, the implementation of the Mediterranean Emission Control Area (ECA) will continue to boost market share for MGO and ULSFO in Turkey. This development has significantly reshaped bunker fuel demand in the country.
Association President and Energy Petrol CEO Mustafa Muhtaroğlu told Ship & Bunker that Turkey has always been a reliable bunker market. He noted that annual volumes remain steady at around 2.25 million metric tons, a remarkable achievement despite disruptions caused by the Russia–Ukraine war.
