Russia launched another attack on Ukraine's Mykolaiv Port, which has remained closed since 2022. During the overnight strike, a cargo ship stranded in the port was hit, leaving one person dead and several others injured.

Ukrainian officials said the vessel had been trapped in the port since the beginning of the war and had not been engaged in commercial operations. The latest strike marked the third attack on Mykolaiv Port within the past 10 days.

Attacks on ports and merchant vessels in the Black Sea have intensified in recent days. Russia previously targeted merchant ships in the Odesa region, while a small Turkish-operated cargo vessel on the Danube was also struck. As security risks increased, several shipowners decided to suspend calls at Ukrainian ports.

Meanwhile, Ukraine has continued its drone attacks on Russian ports and maritime infrastructure, with port cities along the Sea of Azov reportedly coming under repeated attacks in recent weeks. The latest developments have further heightened concerns over the safety of maritime trade in the Black Sea.
